The LGBTQ+ Sandwich is Back—And It’s Giving Back
At the Players Retreat, we’re proud of many things—our food, our team, and especially the welcoming spirit that has defined us since 1951. We’ve always believed that everyone deserves a seat at the table. That’s why our Pride Flag doesn’t just fly in June—it flies year-round, as a constant reminder that whoever you are, you’re welcome here, just as you are.
This June, we’re once again turning up the flavor and the love with a special tradition close to our hearts: the LGBTQ+ sandwich. It’s our playful—and delicious—take on a classic, featuring lettuce, guacamole, bacon, tomato, mayo, and queso fresco, on multigrain bread. But more importantly, this sandwich isn’t just made with great ingredients; it’s made with purpose.
100% for Equality: Supporting Equality NC
We’re proud to announce that 100% of proceeds from the LGBTQ+ sandwich will be donated to Equality NC—a local organization doing critical work to build a more inclusive, safe, and equitable North Carolina for LGBTQ+ people.
Why Equality NC?
Equality North Carolina (Equality NC) is the oldest statewide LGBTQ+ advocacy organization in the country. For decades, they’ve been working to secure protections, expand access to opportunities, and empower LGBTQ+ voices across the state. Their efforts span policy change, youth engagement, rural advocacy, and community education—all aimed at creating a world where every North Carolinian is treated with dignity and respect.
In short: they fight for what’s right, and we’re honored to stand with them.
