Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, is Southern Food Day, but here at Players Retreat, we celebrate the flavors of the South every single day. As a Raleigh staple, we’re proud to serve up dishes that bring people together with their bold flavors and comforting charm. From smoky BBQ to hearty chili and indulgent desserts, Southern food is all about love, community, and a little bit of spice—and that’s exactly what we’re serving.
At Players Retreat, we’re passionate about keeping our food authentic with some of the South’s most beloved flavors. Start your meal off with a bang by trying our spicy bacon-wrapped cheddar and jalapeño poppers—because let’s be real, a little kick is a Southern essential. Our chili is a star on its own or the perfect topper for fries, hot dogs, or just about anything you can dream up. If you want your chili served the real Southern way, enjoy it by it’s lonesome with a side of cornbread. Speaking of cornbread, it’s always a must when you’re digging into our NC pit-cooked BBQ, paired with classic slaw for that perfect sweet and tangy bite. And don’t miss our Wolfpack Burger— a true NC State staple loaded with slaw, mustard, and chili. It’s a burger that screams Raleigh pride.
